The Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH), will conduct the National Successful Ageing Survey 2026 from January 16 to April 30 as part of efforts to develop the National Five-Year Roadmap for Successful Ageing in Brunei Darussalam.
The survey will be carried out through face-to-face interviews across all four districts. A total of 1,100 respondents will be selected through random sampling, comprising 1,000 older adults aged 60 years and above, and 100 individuals aged between 40 and 59. One eligible respondent will be interviewed in each selected household, with each session expected to last about 45 minutes.
To ensure high data quality and consistency, CSPS has appointed 50 trained interviewers who will be deployed nationwide. All interviewers have completed comprehensive training and will adhere strictly to establish data collection procedures and quality assurance standards. They will carry official identification and letters of authorization issued by CSPS.
Selected households are advised to verify the identity of interviewers, who will be identifiable through CSPS-issued survey passes and official vests.
CSPS assured that all information collected will be treated with the strictest confidentiality and used solely for statistical and research purposes. No personally identifiable information, including names or identity card numbers, will be recorded.
The nationwide study aims to generate robust, policy-relevant data on successful ageing and age-related health outcomes. Findings will support the MoH in monitoring ageing outcomes and in formulating policies and strategies to promote healthy and active ageing across the country.
