CSPS concludes masterclass courses

The Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) concluded its Strategic Foresight and Strategic Planning Masterclass Courses recently. The Masterclass Courses are made up of Programme 1: Strategic Foresight Methodology; Programme 2: Strategic Planning; and Programme 3: Strategic Planning Facilitator. Certificates of Competency were awarded to all 36 participants of Programme 1 and 33 participants of Programme 2 by CSPS Executive Director and Chief Researcher Dr Diana Cheong. Participants were from government ministries and agencies as well as financial and academic institutions.

Programme 1 carries international recognition with competency assessment and evaluation by UNESCO Chair for Future Studies, and Sejahtera Centre for Sustainability and Humanity, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
Working in groups, the workshop participants of Programme 1 formulated six project reports: Green and Mobile: Kampong Ayer Beyond 2040; Future of Kampong Ayer; The Future of Nuclear Energy for Brunei Darussalam; Rights and Welfare of Animals in Brunei Darussalam – What the Future Holds?; Autism in Brunei Darussalam; and ASEAN Travel 2040. The Green and Mobile: Kampong Ayer Beyond 2040 report received excellent marks by the course evaluator, UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies Professor Sohail Inayatullah, who recommended for it to be submitted to the Journal of Futures Studies.
