On 18 January 2023, CSPS held the 2nd stakeholders' forum for the Women in Development Study. The main objective of this study commissioned for the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports is to explore current issues facing women in Brunei Darussalam and to formulate general policies in support of the development of a National Plan of Action on Women to improve the level of development amongst women.
The forum was attended by over 60 participants from related stakeholder agencies, including the public sector, private sector, NGO, and women's associations. The main objective of the forum is to get comments and feedback from stakeholders on the proposed policy recommendations, in preparation for the final report.
The feedback received on the organization of the forum and the facilitators was very positive. The majority of participants expressed their appreciation for the significant study carried out by CSPS and highlighted the need for further gender-based studies in the future to inform policymaking for women's empowerment. They also complimented the facilitators for their knowledge and expertise in the field and commended them on their excellent work.In addition, the participants expressed their appreciation to the facilitators for their ability to communicate and provide clear explanations in the presentations they gave. Other remarks made by participants include that the discussion was very well organized, and a number of participants would like to see more forums of this kind held in the future.
