Thirty-five participants, comprising senior officers from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Transport and Info Communications, Ministry of Health, DST, Narcotics Control Bureau, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Attorney General Chambers, Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali registered for a five-day workshop at the Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) Building yesterday, as part of the three CSPS’ Masterclass Course Series in strategic foresight and strategic planning.
The workshop will discuss the foundations of strategic foresight to support policymaking and strategic planning in creating better futures.
Successful completion of the course will be accorded international recognition as it incorporates competency assessment evaluated by UNESCO Chair in Future Studies, and Sejahtera Centre for Sustainability and Humanity, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
CSPS holds an annual executive development training course that provides a unique and innovative approach to the emerging fields of strategic foresight and scenario planning as major dimensions of the entire strategic planning development process.
The course incorporates systems thinking and narrative approaches to understand and manage change for those who want to embrace whole-of-nation and anticipatory governance.
Held in collaboration with Professor Sohail Inayatullah, UNESCO Chair in Future Studies as the Course Evaluator, CSPS facilitators who hold a Gold Mastery Certification in the Systems Thinking Approach to Strategic Management (Haines Centre for Strategic Management) including Dr Diana Cheong and Yuzilawati Abdullah. Other CSPS facilitators are Dr Azrinah Rahman, Dr Kartini Rahman and Pengiran Redhuan Rajak.
The second and third series of the course will be held in the next two months.
