OVER 100 youth and youth leaders from various sectors and organisations participated in the Prep Congress: National Youth Congress 2019 at the Lecture Theatre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas recently.
Titled ‘Future Ready Youth’, the programme is a platform to discuss drafts for Youth Resolution which includes the action plan and main strategies to be taken to counter issues facing youth in supporting the nation’s development and progression.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari was the congress’ resource officer, along with other mentors and facilitators from various agencies.
The three main topics discussed during the prep congress were Entrepreneurship and Unemployment, Future Ready Youth as well as Youth Participation. The outcome from the discussion would be made as a draft for the Youth Resolution for the National Youth Congress on June 16-17.
The prep congress was launched by President of Brunei Youth Council Mohd Aidil Firdaus bin Haji Jukin. Attendees were divided into different discussion topics.
A briefing regarding main findings from Environmental Scan of Brunei Youth was delivered by Chief Researcher at Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies Dr Diana Cheong.
