AMBD and CSPS to launch the National Financial Literacy Survey 2018

The Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) today announced that CSPS has been appointed by Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) to conduct a study based on a National Financial Literacy Survey. The survey will be held from 27th July 2018 up to 26th Aug 2018 at all four districts throughout the country.

The purpose of this study is to measure the level of understanding of Bruneians with regards to financial matters and financial management. The survey will include questions on household budget management, understanding of financial products, and others. All answers are fully confidential, and personal details such as name or IC number will not be required. Information collected from this survey will be used by CSPS to formulate strategic policy recommendations towards the achievement of Wawasan 2035.

A total of 1,500 households have been randomly selected. 66 fieldworkers which consist of local graduates from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) have been engaged to conduct the household survey. Field workers have undergone an intensive interviewing training session prior to the conduct of the survey.

CSPS would greatly appreciate the public’s kind cooperation to participate in the survey, which should take not more than 30 minutes to complete.

Any queries regarding this survey should be directed to CSPS at 2445841/2 during office hours.
